Wyndscent Success Stories

"What a hot opening night. Close to 80 degrees in the sun. I “de-scented” before I went out to my favorite stand, relying on the south – southwest wind forecast. I loaded up my Wyndscent mini with my favorite crossroads scent and climbed in for my first sit of the year! (God is so good to allow me to hunt) The neighbors decided to turn up the karaoke music that made the sit entertaining and a little worrisome - but despite the music and singing the early season feeding patterns of the deer held. Soon my field was filling up with deer. It was going to be a good night.
Self-filming can be so hard and some days frustrating. When I first saw the double drop buck he was running ran across the field to my oak tree stand. He came to 32 yards but was quickly pushed away by another buck. In any other hunting situation, I would have shot him as he walked in, but trying to slowly move the camera meant that I was not able to take the first shot this buck presented to me. Of course, the 10 point that pushed him off stood and gave me a wonderful opportunity to harvest him… I resisted the temptation. After they walked away, I thought I just made one of the biggest mistakes of my hunting career! I was lamenting the fact that this was the first double drop buck that I had ever seen while hunting and that I had not taken advantage of the opportunity because I so wanted to get him on video.
He wandered off into the field and fed for the next hour – to my surprise towards the end of the night he gave me a second chance. He slowly worked his way into another shooting lane and presented another shot. Unfortunately, after the shot I reviewed the footage and realized that he had stopped behind the one branch that could block the camera view! He fell not 75 yards from the shot and broke his right drop tine…I can’t believe he gave me a second chance." - Rob W.

"This is Emme’s 3rd year of hunting the Michigan youth season. The past two years she has not shot a deer during the youth season, but has been able to connect during the gun season. This girl has had the drive and dedication to her bow and archery hunting. Her goal was to take her first buck with a bow this year. She helped hang stands and practiced non stop. She would have been happy tagging a spike but couldn’t get one in range. Her distance is 20yrds and in and finally on Sunday evening last sit of the 2023 youth season this big guy came walking by 15 yards broadside. She put a great shot on him with her 42# draw bow. She is so excited and I could be more proud of my little girl! Ran the Wyndscent Mini up in the tree with us and it worked great!" - Blake M.

"First day of Expanded Archery here in Maine, the Wyndscent with Evercalm helped make it happen." - Field Staffer P. Beede

"Used the sanctuary on Saturday and the evercalm cartridge on Sunday. To say the least we had sooooo many deer come out down wind of us and just nap or lay around. This buck showed up at 7:10am and was ready for the meat locker at 7:11Am." - Field Staffer K. Korzeniewski

"Monday morning brought the cooler temps to central GA and although the wind was not perfect, I knew the bucks would be up and moving. The risk vs reward decision was made easier by knowing my Wyndscent steaming the Conquest Rutting Buck could give me the one variable I needed to pull the big boy out of his comfort zone. Shortly after sunrise, I heard him before I saw him working out of the oak bottom using the crosswind and taking his sweet time. I had my 2.0 placed upwind of where a main trail came out of the bottom into the pines. Almost like he read my thoughts, he turned out of the bottom and started working into the pines with the wind almost dead in his face. He stopped numerous times, raising his nose in the air. I am confident the Conquest Rutting Buck cartridge was pulling him right into my shooting lanes. Another 20 yards and he stopped picture perfect, slightly quartered at 45yds as I laid the crosshairs behind the shoulder and let the CVA Optima speak.
I have been hunting my whole life and have killed may good deer not just in GA but all over the country during my 22yrs in the Army. Of all the deer I have killed, the emotions and shaking that overcame me after the shot is nothing that I have experienced. The hour wait almost caused incurable anxiety and after a short blood trail, I finally got to put my hands on him. My wife of 20yrs, swears she has never heard me this excited in her life. This buck and I have had history for the last 2 years. He managed to evade me all last year and I am certain he knew my schedule, only showing up in daylight when I was not at the farm. Last year he was a main frame 10 with only one drop tine. This year he added 2 more along with a split brow and a split G2. I don’t know yet what he will score, but the meat will probably be completely consumed by my family of 6 before April. There’s a saying, “Id rather be lucky than good”. I believe this to be true. I also believe that you can increase your luck based on many variables. The Wyndscent 2.0 has been that luck multiplying variable for me. I honestly cannot say if it all would have come together today without it."

"I slipped in to an oak flat the deer have been hammering. I dispensed Evercalm on the way in as to hopefully not push any deer off the flat. I saw 8 different bucks work the flat before 8am, and he was #9. Evercalm kept the deer around me from even knowing I was around! Up and downwind."

"Morning started out slow and it wasn’t until 9:30 he made his way towards me. He came within 15 yards and never knew I was there using the 2.0 with sanctuary scent. Perfect shot and he ran 80 yards and expired."

"I usually never use scents in the early season. I never liked using liquid urine. Always seemed like once I used it the area was tainted and the big bucks stayed away. Today I missed the morning hunt and went out about 3:30. I decided to use Sanctuary on the ground in front of my stand and apple in a screw in camera holder next to me in tree because wind was all over the place coming from each direction. This buck jumped over a fallen tree and came in with no care in the world. No nose in the air no hesitation but stopped in the one spot I didn’t want him to, imagine that. It was a brand new stand location so I didn't cut any shooting lanes yet and he stopped 55 yards away with a 3 inch fallen tree right where I wanted to place my shot. I managed to place it just over it and dropping him right in his tracks didn't even move 12 inches. This is the earliest I've ever finished a season. That Sanctuary scent has changed early season for me last 2 years in a row, shooting 2 of my biggest bucks ever earlier than I ever have in the past, no more freezing in late season trying to get my buck."

"This guy came in downwind while I was running my Wyndscent unit. The Wyndscent kept him calm just long enough for me to get a shot off. Got this guy in the same spot my buddy Brian shot his 10 point 2 days earlier."

"I’m fortunate to have access to a roughly 140 acre farm in southwest Ohio that has a very healthy whitetail herd. I hunt it with a fellow retired Marine. We’ve served together for 20 years, both retired about a decade ago, and don’t miss a deer season together. This year, we both took great bucks off the property and we couldn’t have done it without the wyndscent 2.0 and the scent grenade. The 2.0 units were used, set to run every 3 minutes, to lay down cover scents. We have some really great stand locations but unfortunately (or fortunately) the deer can come from any direction so there is always one where the risk of getting busted exists. Placing the 2.0 vaporizer at the base of our stands ensures that a good cover scent is scent out along the ground below our stand no matter which way they wind shifts. This year, it proved to be worth it! This 10 point was downwind of me one evening, within 20 yards, and locked down on a doe. I was using the ever calm 2.0 cartridge and neither the doe nor the buck ever caught my wind. The next morning, he came through the same patch of thick cover, again downwind, but this time he was searching for a new doe and made the mistake of walking out 15 yards right in front of my stand into a food plot. 40 yards from where he was shot, I watched him fall. Using the grenade to check where my wind was drifting and to check morning and evening thermals combined with the 2.0 vaporizer are what made this hunt a success. I’m a fan for life."

"My dad and I always have our Wyndscent system with us, especially since I have joined the field staff! He has had quite the year using it!!! He has had many encounters with all of our hit list bucks, all of them with the Wyndscent system out! He started the year using the P7 Sanctuary and the deer seemed to have no care in the world that he was there even when they were dead down wind of him! As we reached the end of October he switched to the P7 Seduction and had mature bucks walk right up to it! Unfortunately these all happened to be just a little to dark or wouldn’t quite give a good shot, so he passed on some pretty great deer! But persistence paid off last night! He switched it up and went with the P7 Stud Buck scent! He set out his Wyndscent at 3:30 and climbed into his tree. 20 minutes later he looked over his shoulder and this stud was walking right out of the swamp headed straight for his Wyndscent! He drew back and dropped him at 25 yards!!! It was a hunt that most of us can only dream of!!!"

"I hunt out here in Massachusetts and sunset was at 4:30…. I was bummed all day because I had not heard a thing all day and had just told my wife not much longer and I would be in. All of a sudden a heard a bunch of branches breaking and leaves… I look over my shoulder and see him 80yds out… he came down to about 30 and turned up the hill… I use a Wyndscent 2.0 in my stand with acorn and about 25 yds out I used the Wyndscent 2.0 conquest VS-1 and I hit the remote a few times to saturate the area… as he was heading away his nose went in the air and he did an about face right down in front of me… held my bow pin right where I thought he would come into the clearing and as soon as he came in the sight I shot. Got a double lung and sliced the bottom of the heart and he only made it 50-60 yards and fell over.. That Wyndscent saved me from not getting the biggest buck I have ever seen while hunting."

"I was able to fill my first WV tag with the help of my Wyndscent unit. I was using Wyndscent 2.0 Conquest Rutting Buck Cartridge. I set up my unit at 3:30pm. I waited until 4:15pm and grunted a few times. Right after that I had this buck at 75 yard. Taring up a small tree. He was trying to wind me. Then he headed right for the Wyndscent unit. He closed the distance to 17 yards from my stand and about 30ft from the unit when I shot."

"I was fortunate to finally get into my stand last week and harvest this mature New Jersey 8 pointer. The weather has been unseasonably warm this fall and EHD has hit our area pretty hard. I usually run two Wyndscent units while hunting. One that hangs on my stand using the pine scent and another on the ground. With the pre rut kicking in, I decided to use the crossroads scent on this particular hunt. The does that came in weren’t spooked by it in fact they were intrigued and calmed by it. A small buck came running in and went right to the Wyndscent unit before chasing around some of the does. When I saw the small buck pick his head up and look over his shoulder then bolt, I knew a big boy was coming in. He presented me with a nice shot opportunity and I was able to harvest him. The wind was blowing from my stand directly towards where the deer came into my setup. I firmly believe that running a cover scent in my stand along with an attractant scent on the ground enabled me to be successful."

"I got to my stand around 5:15pm. I'm set up in lower Michigan on the Indiana line. Set up my new Wyndscent 2.0 with p7 Stud series scent. Had it set to disperse every minute. A few grunt calls and an hour later I had this big guy 20 yards behind me downwind, tearing into a sapling tree. Waiting for a clear shot on him a doe ran in right under my stand and stopped right there. I thought for sure she was gonna blow and ruin my chance. She didn't and he started coming her way and lightly grunting at her. Talking love!! Lol! Took the shot at about 15 yards, using my Barnett crossbow. 3.5 hours later and some help from a friend I was able to pull the monster from woods. He's 12 point beast! So fat and thick. Waiting on the official size to come back. I 100% believe the Wyndscent 2.0 not only covered my scent but lured him in as well. Thank you. I finally got my wall mounter."

"First weekend of expanded archery in Maine. I was lucky enough to get this beautiful 10 point. I had my Wyndscent device going with a apple cartridge, he came in down wind of me acting totally normal. I am certain without the Wyndscent device he would have smelled me, and I would not have had the opportunity I did.. the rest is history! Thanks again!"
